Screen Test Shots Of Possible Actors

Since we are doing a song with Pop background, it was important to use a predominantly white background. However, the fact that in the band they range in ethnicity it was also important to look at a range of people who would be suitable for the role. However, Fifth Harmony prefer to embrace inner beauty, therefore the ethnicity of the person is less important then their ability to lip sync in time with the song.

Morgan Newsam-
Our first actress to consider was Morgan. Morgan is very fun and bubbly, extremely confident to play a role as part of a girl band. She does in fact have Chinese descendants in her family history, therefore giving her a variety of ethical orientation. Morgan is very attractive and curvy in shape, giving her a real outstanding unique look. She also varies her use of make-up, but known for her use of bold red lipstick. Her use of fashion varies therefore, she is great as Fifth Harmony are known for changing their style all of the time. She also loves to wear her heeled boots, giving her height and elongating her to seem taller than she actually is. Morgan likes to listen to the latest music including artists like Selena Gomez, G-Eazy and Five Seconds Of Summer. She likes to wear trousers and jeans as well as skirts. However, i feel that anything too revealing would make her feel uncomfortable, but the use of skin is not what we what to portray anyway due to our target audience also being fairly young as well as, also being slightly older. She loves to experiment with various hair colours and styles, giving her a slightly unique edge compared to others. Morgan is versatile with her hair mainly having it curled to up depending on what she feels will work with her outfit on the day. Morgan is average in height and likes to maintain a well-groomed look. As a person she is great and would her potential to go further is also good, especially to appear in the video and feature on a magazine or CD covers.

Megan Clements-
Megan is very tall, slim and petite in size; she is blonde in hair colour, contrasting to Morgan who is naturally dark in hair colour. She can often be found wearing her hair in braids or a top knot. She wears simplistic make-up that falls elegantly on the face. She is quite tall subverting against the height of Morgan. Megan likes to party a lot and spend time with friends. She is great with managing to balance school life with her personal life. Megan is very activity in the fact that she does netball on a regular basis as part of team, showing she is great with others therefore would also be great to be part of band. She is confident, but can also be a little shy around people that she does not really know. She loves to wear lots of accessories and her use of make can be bold when is at a special occasion like a party. She is very confident and would feel comfortable in a dress or mid drift style type of clothing. Her style is also very 'Indie' with a twist as she likes to wear trainers with this feminine look, adding a slight tomboy feel and showing her sporty side. She likes a lot of house party music and popular forms of music. Megan has a great personality that brings a huge smile to many of her friends, as well as, other students around school. She is fun and outgoing, but her being a little shy makes her fit well with the personality of Morgan. She is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, looking great on camera, in and on magazines, as well as a CD cover album.

Natasha Carroll-
Natasha is very fun and full of energy. She is very sporty with the fact that she plays football and did GCSE dance. She is medium in height, she is very natural doesn't really wear make-up only when it’s really a special occasion. Her hair is natural and full of volume, giving her a different look compared to the hair of the other roles. She likes to wear various items of clothing, but mainly t-shirts and jeans. She does wear skirts and dresses, but I feel that she would be more comfortable in jeans rather than a revealing clothes. She is a very big fan of pop music and music in general; her great love is Taylor swift, in which she has to been to several of her concerts. She is very close with her family, and is even an aunt. She is a close to all of her family and likes to spend time with them as much as she can. Her plans for the future are to study football in a scholarship in America. She is very talented and is very funny. Her sarcasm is her real quality and her smile to match. She is very bubbly and is great in a team especially as she works in a team through football. She is shorter than Megan and taller than Morgan so creates a harmony in the band. She is also curvy and the fact that they are a different shapes and sizes means they appeal to a various type of audience. They all beautiful in their own way, the fact they are different makes them perfect. As part of the band, she would be an asset with her funny humour. Overall, she would look great on an album or magazine cover, and bring her own style to the band.

Tia Dyos-
Tia is very bubbly person, who does in fact have a very shy side to her. Her hair is dark in colour, matching the dark clothing that she can often be found wearing. She is a true lover of a good series, including The Fosters, Pretty little liars and Grey’s anatomy, even Orang is the new black. She is curvy and extremely funny, often making her friends laugh on a regular basis. She is very good at sociology and psychology, looking at the brain, humans and the environment around them. Tia has a very free feeling on life, having fun but working hard at the same time. She is a big fan of the Olympics with gymnastics being one of her favourite sports to watch. Her fashion is very casual, with black and grey defiantly being her favourite colours.  She likes to have the latest technologies, with apple being her favourite branding. Her music preference is mainly Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift, listening whenever she finds the chance to listen to music. Tia make-up is very important to her, with her eyebrows being a key feature of her look, she is minimal with lipstick, but if ever applied is always dark in colour. She is a massive lover of High School musical, singing the songs in the most random places like during form time. As an artist, she would bring a fun factor but also a serious side; take the music industry as a job that needs to be fulfilled successfully, with a success outcome. Her personality is very similar to Natasha’s, maybe causing a clash in the band. Tia is an extremely busy woman, therefore finding time to film her in the music video would be hard. The fact that Tia can sometimes become shy, might mean that she won’t like the limelight and may become nervous in front of the camera. Overall, I feel she has the perfect image and look of for someone who is young, but I feel her shy personality and the pressure of performing on demand will become too much, she would look great in a video and CD cover, but overall, I feel she isn’t right for the band.

Elena Middlicott-
Elena is very creative and loves to draw whenever she can. She style is very similar to Tia’s, with blacks and grey's dominating her look. Elena is quiet but loves a laugh and a joke. She is hard-working pupil in and outside of school. She also has a part-time job and is great at balancing her personal and school life. She loves the idea of travel and has many aspirations for the future. Elena is strong willed and never gives up even if she is faced with a challenge. She loves everything musical related, one day she plans to visit Broadway as she has seen three west end musicals already. She loves to sing and watch films. Her hair is blonde and often tied back away from her face. She is very much a quiet person who likes to party until she has reached a limit. Elena enjoys various types of music, with The Script being her favourite band, but loves hundreds of songs, sometimes even the cheesiest tracks. Elena is a person who will do anything for anyone, and very family based , spending whenever she gets the chance with them. Elena is similar in height to Megan, elongating the various shapes and heights, which will already feature in the music video.  Art is her true love however, being quite talented and skilled when it comes to drawing. Elena doesn’t like her photos being taken, and will was hard to persuade her to have these photos, therefore, she would feel confident in front of the camera, becoming nervous and shy when the spotlight is pinned on her . She is very conscious of her appearance and would feel scared of what others would feel about her. Elena is also a very busy woman, as I’m filming the music video, making it impossible for me to feature in the music video. Elena is a great person, but is not appropriate for the video, as she is one the director and too shy to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Conclusion-
To conclude, Morgan, Megan and Natasha are the perfect candidates for the video, even though Fifth Harmony is in fact a 5 piece band, we wanted to break the boundaries, creating a three piece band as an alternative to the original artists. They are big personalities with Morgan I feel taking the most liking to the camera, Megan being less confident will add innocence and not cause a clash in personalities. Them all being very different, shows various characters and something that all of our target audience can relate to, feeling a personal connection with the band. They are very hard-working but enjoy a little fun in their life, if they are relaxed I know that this video will be of huge success. Overall, they are great for a music video, CD cover and be amazing is any magazine discussion or cover, they are truly inspirational people who embrace their female gender and the equality of females in today’s society, as do Fifth Harmony themselves.

Analysis Of A2 And Real Music Video- Part 2

"Lean On" is a electronic and dance song, it can be described as a house ballad, inter-emerging in the Pop style genre as well. The song is recorded by music group Major Lazer and French producer DJ Snake. The song was in fact taken from his third studio album ' Peace Is The Mission' 2015. The vocal performance on the track is by Danish singer, MØ who actually wrote the song. The song was released through the record label, Mad Decent Independently, on March 2nd 2015. "Lean On" gained them much success, peaking at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and at number two on the UK Singles Chart. However, the track did reach number one in other various countries, including Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Mexico, New Zealand, Finland, Denmark and Switzerland. In November, 2015, this track was named the most streamed track in 2015 of all time on Spotify and has 800 million streams globally, as of June 2016. The music video accompanying the song was filmed in ND Studios, Karjat, Kaul Heritage City, Vasai in Maharashtra, India, Bangalore, and Stockholm City Hall. The video premiered on March, 23 2015 and has over 1.53 billion views YouTube in July 2016; "Lean On" was the fifth best selling song of 2015 worldwide.

The video itself is very cultural in terms of being set in a religious temple, the video mainly shows the vocal performance of MO, with the other involved parties mainly making a appearance at parts of the video. The video focuses on the dancing related to the religious cultural they have used, in which I believe to be Indian. This is due to the fact that they have darker pigments in their skin,as well as, from the garments that they are wearing this is also greatly linked to the Indian culture. The fact they are wearing no shoes shows a sign of respect to the temple. Although, in the video the artist is far less cultured than the dancers. This is due to the fact that they are wearing casual and sport style clothing. With the female in something that would be associated with a tennis player or netball player. They do  show some sign of  respect and relation in terms of being traditional decorations around their neck and the main singer showing use of make-up on her face, similar to what would be seen in traditional events and special occasions like a wedding. The style of hair is also very simplistic with two braids on either side of the hair. In each braid, material brightly coloured, has been weaved into the braid. They have taken what is to be a traditional Indian temple and used a more sexual and modern twist into the video. The dancers in the video have been portrayed as Indian, but the fact that they are performing sexualised dance moves adds a question of whether they have true faith in the religion or not. The clothing that they are wearing is very religious wearing what I believe to be a salwar kameez. They have been changed though, with the stomach being on display in all of the dancers throughout the video.

The use of location in the video is very diverse with use multiple rooms in the temple, along side the other side space and even the temples bathing baths of holy waters. In the video, they also have used a decorated bus, in various colours and patterns, which remain to the Indian style look and feel. The lyrics which really stood out were "blow a kiss, Fire a gun" which creates a contradiction against itself. A relation to meet love with hate and violence, a reference to Martin Luther King Jr. Plus, a reference to equality in society. The meaning behind the song demonstrates a grasp of humanity and equality across all boards or gender. However, the fact that they are mainly females dancing in video shows the traditional patriarchal society the Indian culture still remains to be. The use of women also shows to be  heavily linked to a male targeted audience. with the male parties standing around watching the women dance. But, in parts they do in fact dance with the women, performing a different routine to the women.

This beginning of the video is very traditional, and exploring the culture of Indian life. The fact that the video begins and finishes in the same context, produces a complete story, but something that the audience can relate to, as they have already seen this image. The use of the pattern draws the audience in as little is known of what is to come next. The pattern fascinates the audience, with the deep use of red, displaying life and love, as well as, being important to the Indian culture. The light reflecting through the back of the shot, indicates hope and brightens the room, giving off the vibe of positive energy rather than negative. Indicating, that this video is not about sadness, but instead celebrating the culture and the country itself. The fact that it starts and finishes the same is also showing the location, where the video is being filmed, but an element of elegance with such a pretty location. The open sequence lacks any text or font of what the song is, gaining interest to the audience further. Differentiating to the A2 video, which includes the use of text to tell the audience the name of the track.

The use of the bathing, with her fully clothed, could be a sight of baptism, however the way she is covered with petals and man being there seems very sexualised. He is shirtless, and demanding a request through the use of a hand signal. The 3 males are also dancing alone in the temple, the only real time that they are shown to be alone in front of the camera, they are dancing in a very traditional Indian way, with some wearing traditional clothes, depending on the image that they are in the world of music. The lighting is very artificial and almost angel like against the complexion of the skin in the main female, portraying her as a goddess. With the dancers and herself in the meditation pose, they are very relaxed, the feeling acquired through water. With candles increasing this relaxed vibe further. They are also dancing around him while he is centered in the middle, adding further to a sexual idea. He is dancing with them, maybe they are demonstrating how to dance as he is white, clearly not from a Indian family and the Indian religion. The carpets on the floor and candles keep with the use of red, a passion and love for their religion and culture. They remain in the temple throughout these shots, enclosed in what they know, only the non-Indian characters seek the outside world. They are true to who they worship.

The change in location and the fact that they are located on a roof of a bus, is very different to what is seen in other videos. The mix of the traditional bus, with bold colours against the skyline of the buildings among the background, show a developing country. The colours used are loud, which is what is expected in a Pop music video. The costume presented through the main character is very bold and what is not a usual outfit for day to day life, she clashes with the colours in the bus, and actually stands out more. The fact that she is at the front of the bus, with the male characters lined up behind her, shows her importance to the video with the fact that she is the lead singer in vocals. She is holding a higher importance. If she was placed to the back of the bus, she would seem less important and the fact the audience cannot see the singer, would confuse them. Her remaining throughout is key, to understand who is singing. This panning shot shows a moving bus, while they sing and dance, very unique to any other video and the use of colours remind me of Boy George in Karma chameleon. The panning shot also indicates the surroundings with a mixture of what other countries are like and what in fact a developing country is like. The idea of it just being them, instead of the dancers in one for safety and it focuses solely on who was involved in producing this track. The use of multiple locations, in which link in some way is common and extends what would considered low budget, into something of a higher budget.

The use of the dancing is extremely cultural, with the men on the horses, adding a touch of class and authority, making them seem taller higher, as if worshipped. Men in Indian religion are very important with the females, being submissive to them and paying to their commands. The fact that they are evenly spaced, could be a sign of protection around the women or easier view to see and watch the women in a sexual way. As if they are dancing, in order to be chosen as a wife. The use of red has continued, with the ground under there feet being red. A very seductive colour that is really important to the Indian culture. The use of the tall columns in the back , with the height of the man on horses, they reach closer to the sky, therefore, closer to their God. They are lined-up and positioned in a location which is easy for all of them to be seen. This wide angle, but high angle shot, is great to capture the location and the essence of where they are filming, giving another intake of the video to the audience in a new light. They fact as well they are dancing close to the women, embracing their culture and style, but the fact she is looking over her shoulder, back at him, wondering whether she is impressing him and where his eyes are actually directed. Overall, this video shows hints and touches of sexualised behaviour, known in some Pop videos, but is still very cultural and shows the religion in a traditional way.

The type of genre, for which is displayed Pop . The video itself is extremely random with little relation to anything in particular. The video consists of a young girl and two boys who are all of a similar age, The use of more boys than girls shows a link between the video and the real music video. The video seems very low budget with them basically walking and dancing around the streets and within a skate park. The video shows no story or idea of what the real video produces. The dancing performed is used to replicate the dancing in the original video, however, they lack energy and effort with their dancing. Therefore, making the dancing seem very pointless. The dancing is used to show a cultural background and to celebrate the religion and faith they have. I feel that its hard to determine what is fact this video fits into, but a use of performance maybe the right genre. With the use of dancing, and performing into the camera. I can determine that this is not a narrative, as no real story is present and the video seems very random to say the least.

Gender is common is videos and simple to achieve with the use of males and females, for which they have used. Males are clearly more dominate with 2 to 1 in ratio. With men used to show authority, although, I feel that she is more dominate with being the lead role and actually the one who is lip syncing to the song. This is similar to the video with the females being in a large quantity and  there only being three males, but they lounge over the women, whereas this video shows no relation to each other with them never interacting with the female and only appearing in the video. The class elements makes me believe they are from a working to middle class family, with there costume being jeans and trousers, but the lack of designer items indicates that they lack to the ability to afford to pay for these items. The clothes are clean, suggesting they could be middle class. The location contradicts this with them hanging in a skate park and on the streets, if they were upper class, they would be in resorts and golf club locations, far more wealthy then being on the streets. They are not portrayed as a gang, as this related to black young and more elastic would be wore, with jogging bottoms and hoodies. There faces can be seen and their ethnicity is white, if they were in a gang more people would be seen and they would be together rather than portrayed in a separate manner. Secondly, alcohol, would seen and the time day is wrong, with a gang more related to night time instead of the middle of the day. They create the essence of a white youth, who seems rebellious when in fact they are good teenagers, keeping to public places and staying with their ethnicity good, which is often a stereotype of ethnicity.

Jeans, t-shirts and trainers are a common trait in this video, with the female clearly being the artist and the boys seeming to be just accessories to the video. She is the one who is based and shown to be lip-syncing while boys just dance. She is seen in white jeans, black top and a flannel shirt. She is also wearing sunglasses, making her seem cool and disguising part of the face, adding a mystery to her. The sun glasses are not used in a practical sense with part of the video being in black and white, therefore, the glasses are not needed and look pointless to the audience. The keep continuity however as she wears them throughout. The lack of change in location or costume, makes the video boring and seem very much the same throughout. In Pop videos, its common for them to change outfit and location multiple times, giving a undecided feel so change to keep to this feel, go with the flow feel. Addressing a young, teenage attribute. The black and white costume look does follow the trends of teens who wear blacks, greys and white in their outfits, adjusting to that idea. But, itself is colourful and bold, its not what you would wear all of the time and shows a luxury, something teenagers aspire to. Overall, the clothes are bland and simplistic, what teenagers would wear on a daily basis rather than what would actually be worn in a pop music video.

The inter-textual reference in the video is very limited as is the original video, most likely where they have gained the idea to use little reference to this factor. The use of the technology is present, with the phone displaying a music choice which is fact the song that they are performing. A great to show the audience who the original song is by, but showing that this is a cover rather than their own song in which is want is meet to be intended. The phone itself is cracked through the screen, lowering the standard of the film and making film look low budget, as well as, lowering the quality. The crack makes the phone a little hard to see, meaning real attention must be paid in order to catch what is in fact present on the screen. The use of graffiti, addresses a young feel, with teenagers known to rebel, causing disorderly behavior to the public as it is know. This implies a canvas of showing their street cred, trying to be cool and fit in, a known factor of the stereotypical teenager. The yellow does look as if its the name associated to the characters in the video, when in fact I think it's what was there to begin with. Really they needed to tone that writing down, by changing the lighting, focusing on the main character and less on the graffiti, as i find myself look past her and at the graffiti. The yellow to too flamboyant against the costume she is wearing, but bolder colour would clash with the yellow.

The presumption in which can be made, based on the target audience is a young adolescent age between 12-15. This is due to the fact that the character present in the track are in fact young themselves. The lack of alcohol, demonstrates that they are too young to drink, but the time of day would be wrong to show alcohol as this is more of a night time feel. There is no reference to sex, as they may not be legal to pursue this. The video is very innocent and doesn't show many risks or thrills that would be taken up by someone of a older age. The video is very clean, but within the lyrics of the song violence could suggested with references to guns, which indicates why they are 12 and above. Due to what she is wearing, over 15 would expect more provocative clothing and sexual dancing, where as she portrays neither. all of skin is covered with clothing and the use of the white from her outfit shows innocence. In conclude, i feel that 12-15 in their target group, but her flesh no being on show a addresses a cultural idea of covering their skin from the rest of society in many religions, tackling a religious aspect, as well as those who are young.

The video addressed multiple weaknesses and strengths, with the opening sequence i didn't initially see the opening text, showing the name of the song. Therefore, when the song arrived didn't know what is was expecting. The opening imagery is also in black and white making it harder to see a black title on the opening image, perhaps a red could be used to relate to the continuous use of red in the real video.Even a yellow would work, fitting with the yellow in the graffiti behind the female character. Some of the shots, i felt were very creative with the reverse effects and the use of freeze frames. This was eye-catching and took away fro him just walking in the whole of the video. Other shots that assist this was also a worms eye view of the boy in the skate park. Nevertheless, some shots were unsteady and need work, Some were bland and most of the shots were in fact far too long. Most Pop music videos are fun with quick shots, keeping the attention of the audience focused, they could have use more effects to make some of the other shots more interesting.

Some aspects of her lip syncing are in fact out of time, she is going to fast compared to the singer in the track. This makes it very obvious that she ins't singing the song, but instead miming the lyrics. Detracting from the effect in which she is trying to create. while she is doing this some of what she is saying is in fact the wrong words, adding another aspect to that. while she is singing the camera is focusing in a extreme close up of her lips, which i really like, its a good technique and is great alternative shot, showing the identity of the character. However, the fact that she is staying some things wrong doesn't looks great compared to if she was saying the words right. The dancing is also quite frankly embarrassing, as have no effort will doing the moves, some are related to the original video and Indian style, but they are not performed to a good ability as they are in the real music video. The video seems very rushed, as if it's been filmed in one day, instead of looking carefully at shots and re-shooting on different occasions, the boys seem a last resort and like they don't want to be their, giving the audience a feeling of that this video is not of a good quality. Overall, the video seems random, with a boy taking a walking and listening to a track, and then he is suddenly dancing with another in which they never showed him meeting up with in the first place, I feel that the story should of just been her, as the other characters are not necessary. He is then shown finishing his walk, it's not creative and some areas are filmed poorly, I don't like this video and it defiantly needs improving, with re-shoots, a dance choreographed and a better story to understand.

Analysis Of A2 And Real Music Video- Part 1

The original song was created by Sia, she is hugely known for her use of disguise, using a wig to cover the integrity of her face. The song was released in 2014 as part of her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms Of Fears. She wrote the song along with Greg kurstin and Samuel Dixin, also having an input on the track. The music video was officially released to YouTube on the 23rd of April 2015. The video was filmed for Heidi Klum lingerie line; starring Klum and Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal as a couple who are in a complex and dramatic relationship. The video portrays their relationship and the idea of the female character burning their home while they watch the house burn. In the video Sia does not appear but the use of her blonde wig does make an appearance. Sia was not involved in the process of creating and making the video, but instead stated that  she licensed the use of the song to be used in a lingerie commercial. The song however was released on the 19th of June 2015, it was a song that is not a single but in fact a part of the album that she was releasing which had the track on.

In the first initial imagery of the video, the setting is what is very much displayed to the viewers. The imagery shown is what appears to be a house, which is dark and under grips of the trees; giving the impression of hands controlling the house like a puppet. Therefore, adding a horror style idea from the image. The open text covering the imagery is white, contrasting heavily against the black imagery of the background; displaying a monochrome feel and appearance. The typography itself is strong and firm with the lines creating structure, however this also continued on the edges of each letter. Remaining present to the opening image. The size itself is relatively small, giving the typography a element of class and elegance. Overall, the initial first impressions of the video shows a sinister and a sense of loneliness, as from what can be seen is the location deserted with little life other than the surrounding trees to the location. The glimpse of light in the background from the moon along with the white lettering creates a sense of hope and faith of there being light at the end of a very dark tunnel. The moon is very natural and the only source of light. The setting all seems very natural and weathered with the wooden beams to the edging and exterior of the building, shedding scraps and shards of wood.

As the video moves and progresses into the main story, glimpses of the house can seen. The wide angle shot, moving into a panning shot, sets to scene of the interior items in the location. The fact that a clean bed with loose linen curtains covering and distorting the access, to look into the property. The fact that the camera restricts view, creates the feeling that someone is on the bed out of view. Questioning what is fact going on in the room. The use of monochrome remains with the darkness of the night, and the light of the moon along with the white of the bed linen. The brown of the wooden bed and the chair sitting the corner of the room, shows a very traditional furnished feel. Something associated with a much older generation, rather than someone of a young age. The second image however plays a very contrasting effect, with wildlife and the trees dominating the scenery, with the mountains outlining a silhouette, creating the perfect image. The direction in which the sun is peering from suggests a early morning or a morning from the night before. demonstrating, that this is previous to the shot above. The continuation of a wide shot keeps them relating to each, although the audience are unsure as to why they relate yet. The interior shot is very secluded and tight, being stuck within 4 walls, where as the second shot is as open as can be, continuing for miles in that one shot, being free and knowing there is no limit to this space.  In the mid ground, a car can be seen with smock emerging from behind the car, this is a mixture of smoke from the exhaust and the gravel from the roads, as they are very natural rather than man-made. Displaying the first sights of life in the video. To conclude, they show darkness and light, contradicting imagery that perceives the idea that a mixture of dark and light will create a struggle before things can be seen to get better. A metaphor of what life can be like.

Theses over the shoulder and low angle, possibly worm eye view shots demonstrate the love between the couple, there looks at each other and their passion which they have for each other. Through the images light from the sun can be seen, creating a happy atmosphere compared to the present images. The fact that they are so close and interment, suggests more than just friends. The fact that they are secluded, shows that they don't want others, only each other. Furthermore, the fact they are secluded could show that they are of criminal conducts and want to be hidden, from others who may be suspicious of this. They seem to be well groomed and lack the ability to actually be criminals. On the contrary, the facial hair of the man, is very country like and a Texas related look. The lack of being able to recognize and make the whole features of the face, the lack of identity,  the idea of it being on purpose, to not be able to know who they are. This happy and intimate moment can be replicated in the use of sun and gentle branches hanging over them. The sun shows their happiness but the branches, presenting a much more feeling of unhappiness through the fact that the they are hanging over them like a regret haunts a person. Overall, they are committed to each other with the lack of temptation for others, as they are the only people to be present at that location. The fact that he is in front of her, dominants her and restricts her from moving out of his grasp, along with her head on his shoulder, shows her relies on his strength to hold her or that she is obsessed with him she can't bring herself to be from reach of him.

In the first glimpse, it's hard to determine what exactly she is throwing other than a liquid from a container. The use of a mid, but over the shoulder shot, broadcasts her figure to be small and thin. her action to be big and large, previewing her to be stronger than she is and capable to much more harm than we think. Her setting a fire, hiding his mistake or her, the fact that he has her controlled and eating from the palm of his hands, knowing she is hypotised under him and his love, she will command to his control. That they are setting a fire, running from the situation rather than confronting it, their one true weakness. The use of costume and covering her appearance, disguising her. In contrast, their is no one around so why would her identity matters. she covers her hair with a wig and her torso with a coat, but her hands are without gloves, meaning the situation will catch through fingerprints, Although the house will be nothing by the time someone else arrives, leaving no trace of who was their before. The aggression and strength of the flames, indicate the temper he controls her with but in the video little violence is used, so the heat and passion in the relationship perhaps. She is willing to commit a crime, a result for the strength of her love for him. To conclude, she is showing strength, as she is taking control of the situation even if it could have criminal consequences.

The representation of the wolf, shows a dominate and alpha male. The fact that the wolf is on looking to the fire and burning house, achieves strength over the house and the strength that couple have now over the burning building. They have the power to allow the house to burn. They don't however have control on whether to stop the fire, as the fire is hard to control and take charge. A battle between the human and nature. The wolf standing calm and on looking, he lacks fear of the flames and instead, a harmony between them all. The white of his fur around the eyes, drawn the attention to the direction in which the wolf is looking. The wolf seems calm and relaxed, even through there is a fire, no panic in the wolf. Overall, he is looking at something that he considers as normal, otherwise he would react. Therefore, I feel that he is drawn to the fire. They show equality and the idea of being part of one instead of individuals, due to fact they also all alpha males in that society.

The final moments of the video, proceeds in performing the outcome of her results. The idea that her back is turned from the result, indicates that she can not come to terms in what she has brought herself to do. The fire glows against the darkness of the night, making more of  a statement compared to fire being started during the day. Creating more visual effect to the audience. The time period also shows their to be little sign of anyone, being more quiet and discreet compared to setting the fire in the middle of the day. Him peering at the fire, over her shoulder adds a feeling of that they can move on, leaving the past behind them. What matters is the future and their life's together. The fire glows on his face, brighten and warming him, seeming softer than the hard person he has been displayed to be. The trees in this imagery seem limited, not being able to control the house as they have done before. Getting there hands burned from the flames, leaving the house to be in its own devices. In contrast, they have lost the control they had, abandoning the house. In conclusion, the video manifests power, and control, taming what can't be tamed. Nature crossing paths with the living, getting caught up in something that they had no chose in. This video of empowerment and covering mistakes.

The video replicates a complex love story, the video is moving and expressing the complications of love and sexuality, assuming he is heterosexual and convincing himself he is, but through social media and questioning himself causing the reveluation that he is in fact gay.  The type of genre in which this video is relevant to is electropop and synth pop. The ideal used in terms of portraying a love story, is very much adhering the conventions in the Pop genre, therefore easily fitting into genre of Pop effectively and efficiently. Further, a contrasting element is the fact that they expressed a love story, that shows beyond the heterosexual relationship. The era of time changing and same sex marriage legal fits to the time period, but pushing the boundaries of modern Pop, showing a meaning that love is love no matter your sexuality or gender. The fact that they are young targets of a teenage audience, those who are struggling to understand themselves in many aspects, including their sexuality. The fact that predominantly males are used, targets the gay community rather than a lesbian community, the use of a heterosexuals in the video helps to target a much wider audience. The fact that they are struggling in the relationship, often relates to teens who are seen to have girl or boy troubles as they are often classified.

The type of video created is a narrative, in the sense that it portrays a complex love story. The idea that he portrays elements of singing to camera, extends to genres into a cross between narrative and performance. The use of narrative is more dominant, compared to performance, but the use of performance creates a connection between the artist and the audience. The fact that the artist of the track features throughout the story line, demonstrates who exactly the track relates to. The video portrays a male role, differentiating against the original video, showing more of a female role. The use of having a male, however assisting her, proves the equality in gender, but the story of the relationship. The lack of ethnicity shows a very white culture for the video,

The representations portrayed in the video is mainly gender, age and sexuality. The way they have been incorporated is through the use of relationships, with a vary of relationships, mainly heterosexual or friendships. The use of age is limited, with mainly 18 to 21 years of age. Representing the youth. This is common in Pop, mainly targeting the young,  as many of singers are young themselves. The gender is versatile,  exhibiting the natural genders that occur, but the lack of transgender remains, it's hard to see or notice anyone who is transgender therefore, it maybe in the video but be hard to see. The inter-textual references is mainly through the use of branding, of  Apple, Smirnoff and Budweiser. The use of social media is also expressed, mainly in Instagram with some use of Snapchat. Through this it transfers the modern way of contacting others, It also adheres to the stereotypes of teenagers. The use of alcohol, shows a variety of spirits and beers, various volumes with the increase in the game and the night, the alcohol becomes stronger. Alcohol is common in Pop/ R'n'B tracks, as the youth are known for partying hard. By the end of the video, a more sexual nature is shown, an occurring idea of when drink is involved, sex is also present.

The intended target audience, are in fact late teens to early twenties, due to the fact of the characters in the video. They are mature in terms of being able to drink alcohol and enjoy poker, they are still youthful, as they all have a young complexion, showing little age in the video. The use of fire demonstrates that they are taking risks and literally playing with fire, something that a younger and much less experienced person would do. The use of thunder and lightening in the video shows a spark of energy and a flick in mood or temper, often related to teenagers and hormones. The flickers of thunder could also spark in discovering who they truly are, instead of who they are pretending to be. The use of  skin and flesh, refers to a sexual nature, more grown up compared to a younger target audience. The use of sex, attraction and contact between others is a huge element expressed, an element shown as you gain age and grow. It flaunts passion for others and love, therefore a teenage to young adult target audience is more appropriate. The use of games and experimentation relates heavily to those are stereotypically young and playing with fire, going to extremes and pushing the boundaries, living on the edge, a stereotype for adolescences.

The video itself highlighted a number of strengths and weaknesses, ranging from the camera use to the narrative of the video. The video I found to be very professional, maintaining a mature feel through looking at love beyond what is considered the norm, by looking at gay relationships it conveys age and growth as a person. They fact the actors have taken the role so seriously expresses the maturity that age brings. Although, some of the shots within the video, they are in fact unsteady and does make aspects of the video hard to determine what in fact is taking place in the shot. Detracting from the narrative that they are trying to achieve. Furthermore, the use of narrative is excellent with integrated flickers of other shots like sparking flames and fire. The use of Bird or Dove shows movement in the video, but the colour showing purity and innocence. The use of the Dove, creates the same effect as the wolf in the original video. Incorporating an inter-textual idea from the initial video. The use of a love story has also remained, but with a subtle twist of it being a Gay love story, showing what has changed over the last 50 years into the norm. The video itself has a environmental feel with man-made and natural materials being displayed, working as one. However, more man-made objects are present, the change now in the 21st century. The modern building contrasts against the old building in the original video. The use of bird moving harmonies with the Fire, creating a fight or flight response. With the bird moving, maybe running from the fire, considered as a natural reaction through human instinct.

Another aspect of weakness, is the use of lighting within the shots of the poker scene, I feel that it is too artificial, overpowering the meaning and intensifying the image too much. It seems unnatural compared to the video as a collection. They really need to consider the lighting, as in other areas in some of the shots it's hard to see what is actually happening with the room being so dark, unable to see the footage; changing the perception of the video, as well as, confusing the audience on what is going on. I also found the typography to be very similar to the lettering in the opening, with the use of white. The font style is in fact much smaller and thinner but keeps the same effect as what is in the real video. To conclude, the video itself is very strong with areas that slightly detract against the video, but overall a very strong and well thought out video. The video shows young love, mistakes and finding who you truly are as a person, all the things youth experiment with.
