Through closer inspection and more audience feedback, we obtained that the previous design was slightly outdated, with the interlinking of faces not actually displaying the clear link and unity between each member of the band. Therefore, we have applied a more visual element that displays the unity of three, with all three points of a triangle meeting, implying that metaphor more and three points showing them being involved as friends who merge, three being the magic number. The idea also demonstrates a modern and retro, pop vibe exactly what we want to show as the genre. The light tinge of purple still remaining, keeping the colour theme throughout, both a playful and feminine colour which does not overpower the meaning or message from the design. The triangles also form and replicate the style of the photo of the band, each overlapping as they are positioned in the image, reflecting and mirroring the design of the band and how they are situated in the composition. I find this design much more successful, as it implies less imagery of the band and more about who they are and how they work as a team, not just as a band but also as friends. Overall, the design demonstrates hints of colour, with a modern twist and unity of the band as a whole.

Q4: How Did You Use Media Technologies In The Construction And Research, Planning And Evaluation Stages?
Through the research stage process, the iMac's became a huge resource for this factor, specifically safari. Using this to look at websites Wikipedia, discovering information upon different genres of music and their codes and conventions, helping us to determine what genre we wanted to target specifically. The mac also feature throughout, with having software that formatted the whole foundation of our music video. As well as, further research later on, looking at different Digipaks and tour poster formats that pop artists have created, gaining inspiration to achieve a design with a foundation of codes and conventions assisting this. Upon safari, a key search engine was Google,a very popular site that is quick and fast with my searches making it easy to find exactly what is needed, however elements like imagery to discuss in my magazine advertisement research was hard, to determine what could be considered as a magazine advertisement. the internet was important throughout every process which imagery to back up discussions through research to looking at locations that were suitable to film within.
when evaluating the success of the overall music video, we used Survey monkey, which allowed us to create questions for our target audience, gaining their feedback to see the overall success of the our music video creation, seeing what exactly was successful and what could be improved if the video was produced again in the future. Other platforms used were YouTube and Facebook sharing the video, gaining more feedback/ responses and even further shares, expanding beyond our target audience and seeing how other viewed our music video as well. These software's and social media sites allowed access of a critical analyse of our music video and gain feedback of all types, letting us know if what we have created is successful, and whether our time was truly well spent.
On the apple macs, i was able to access the blogger software, with ease, displaying the program icons at the bottom of the homepage. These software's include power point, work, excel and other applications. To display my coursework blogger was great to do this, online for all to see. I have gathered all parts of my coursework through this program. I was able to apply imagery to support my finding and allow others to understand what i am discussing in each blog post. I used various applications online including Prezi, slide share and Emaze to produce and publish my finding in a stylistic format. The positive attribute of using blogger was it being electrically visible, being fun and media associated, but easy. As i could work from home, accessing my account to add and show my progression of my coursework throughout the whole process. The software was reliable, not falling at any moment in time, keeping all work safe. I also scanned elements into my account, uploading to my blog, a very easy way to show the work that i have done. Like my story board, bring 2-D paper into the digital format of my blog. Contrasting these positive factors, a few flaws I found were the lack of privacy, as they had one log in rather than individual log in, giving access to saved work to anyone who was to use the mac. Therefore, you had to also go back to that exact mac, as the work would be saved to that mac. no other. The software, Imovie is only view-able on the iMac, meaning we were only able to work on our music video inside of school, a disadvantage on time for editing towards the final product. The overall, software however was great producing a professional finish, that made the video seem well produced to a level that a music label would approach in their music artists videos.
Using the throughout the coursework, was very important and another key media technology. it was incorporated through various aspects, including filming, taking photos for the ancillary texts and taking behind the scenes shots. When using the camera, we tried various camera settings, seeing how they would change the quality of the footage but also effect of the story line, trying to determine what would be most effective throughout the music video. we all knew how to work a camera, allowing us all to take responsibility of filming throughout. As we all knew the functions and settings for the camera, we were not wasting time to trying to determine what each setting was. We also relied on good quality footage, therefore a tripod was only right to sit the camera upon creating steady footage. It also allowed our framing of rule of thirds to be used, keeping the correct size, Although, a negative aspect was having to carry the large equipment around with us, from one location to the next. However, due to the equipment being the schools, we had to share the equipment, meaning when we wanted to film we couldn't at times, as others had booked the equipment to film their videos. the quality of pixels were okay, but not as high tech as those of a professional music video. we were also restricted in facilities. Although, the quality of the camera was far better than AS with the flip cameras, uploading footage onto Imovie quickly by placed the SD card into the portable slit, the high storage availability also meant we could keep the footage on the camera, a back up if anything went wrong with the old model macs. however, the nikon was key for taking photographs for our ancillary texts being a magazine advertisement and Digipak, taking multiple shots at different angles, producing good quality images, expressing the effects we desired. The SD card made it easy for us to add easily to the blog software, being a JPEG also allowed easy photo shop editing to be applied.
YouTube was also another form of website used, allowing use to access other music videos, to analyse through our primary research, when we began looking at different music categories. YouTube allowed us to watch other videos. Gaining inspiration of elements we felt could be applied to our music video, like 'Goyte' with his use of shape and colour to the unusual design and format for his music video. Another, key software was Imovie, this obtained the footage and created the whole music video. This software is a little out dated, but was great, as it formed a template that we could apply the footage to, no need to create our own saving lots of time. Imovie also has a range of special effects like slow-motion and speeding the footage up, it also has tools to steady the footage is slightly out, therefore saving time on re-filming and redrafting sequences within the music video. The program allows the song also to be added. It easy to use and great for the music we were creating. We used this program in AS but now we were far more experienced using previous knowledge to create the format of our music video, however in slight different context compared to the Opening to a thriller. Imovie also corresponds with YouTube, making it easy and simplistic for us to release the video to a mass target audience, on an international level.

Q2: How Effective Is The Combination Of Your Main Products And Ancillary Texts?
Introduction:
We carrying out our research we opted for the pop genre, we found that this type of music was very current and would target a wide audience group. We found that the video themselves was a contribution of both narrative and performance. Therefore, this lead to us planning our video as a mixture between both categories. We stumbled upon a generic code of the fact that the story lines tend to be different throughout, but key features present however, taking this into account the story line we produced was unique. However, we conducted a primary research through a survey constructed on Survey Monkey, sending out questionnaires on what our audience expected to find in a Pop Music video. Although, we did also introduce the survey to some of the public who were not part of our target audience, to determine if the video, could interest those who are not who we wanted to target. From our feedback results we discovered that all had a similar option, to make a too complex story line, that would lose the audience. Expanding on this we began to look at story lines that we could use, when making a final decision we needed to determine what would produce the best polished outcome and would fit together as the best format. This process involved mood boards and story boards to plan and develop the final idea. But, a factor of time had to be taken into consideration, this being time, meaning we were unable to push the video in the factor of location, using local places instead of further places if we had time. We discovered that pop music videos tend to repeat factors over and over again or scenes are similar in style. we have opted for more variety and range, therefore having many of the scenes different, obtaining the maximum attention of the audience throughout. However, we used an even balance of studio and narrative performance throughout.
The video itself demonstrates the generic codes and conventions of the Pop music video, with great success that i feel the video attracts the audience and draws their eye into the whole of the video. By displaying the typical, teen relationship,we are directly targeting the audience, allowing them to make an instant link to the video on a personal level. I feel the flickers back and forth is good, interlinking in order to collaborate as one video, but to show various scenarios at the same time.
Development of music video:
When forming the body of the music video, we really needed to address the target audience, allowing them to relate as much as they could to the situation that they possibly could. Creating a interesting and eye-catching design, in order to draw the audience in the work. Referring back to exactly what the audience like, we created a mood board which brought all factor together, making an easier reference through the further processes. when looking at specific elements like fashion and clothing, we focused on branding, as teens tends to wear high fashion label brands. putting our focus on fashionable styles, therefore the audience would be instantly drawn and focused to the characters, but also relate to them, but inspired by what they are wearing. When we portrayed the band we decided in a professional manner, in posture and style. This due to the fact the song itself is about love predominantly, but with our interpretation based upon friendship. We did however brand each member with their own colour, running throughout the theme of the story line including the powder paint even being distinguished to each individual member. This represents a trademark, like most artists have. The drawn triangles on the faces of the members was an idea grasped to interlink each member, displaying their true friendship and commitment to one another. This segment is inspired by Goyte's video 'Somebody that i used to know'. His video shows paint slowly covering the body, in crossing lines among the featured artists bodies. We chose triangles for the factor that they have three sides and meet at three points, the formation of the band, working as one to bond and create the unity of the band, as of they almost need each other in order to survive. This idea of triangles has also been introduced in our first format and layout in the Digipak, in term of a repetitive pattern, involving this factor in subtle hints throughout.
Moreover, the introduction of the music video, is displayed in a monochromatic nature, a very classic take and old-fashioned compared to the nature of the bold pop style. This factor was also applied to the ending of the piece, reflecting the unity and mirroring the process, in terms of beginning and end. This black and white notion also continued in the final Digipak outcome, keeping continuity in every process. This traditional means continues in the use of the typewriter, promoting a traditional typing method, to indicate the heritage of text. Demonstrating the regeneration of old forms and the comeback of traditional means, this is in place to hint the revival of music consumption forms, like Vinyls. Further, bright colour are still predominantly present, displaying the modern age of pop, and ways that pop may have been expressed in the past. The bright colour restore the fun to the video, creating a bright and positive environment for the audience. The arcade setting is vital for this factor, with flashing lights that will draw the eye of the audience to our video. This setting is great for all age, targeting those who are not wanting to intentionally target. The powder paint is also to enhance the fun within the video, showing the connection they obtain as friends, to make a more natural friendship we included off guard scenes of them laughing, and just being very natural around each other, like they act when they are together as friends. The fact that they are all different, in many terms including personalities and interests, many friendship groups are too. They often refer to bands or use their favourite band, to apply a member to each of them of who they think they are most like. Linking to the band in a rather personal manner. The Digipak however incorporates group shots of the members to show just exactly how close they are as friends, the single shots that are used still remain close in distance among the composition, keeping the unity within the band. The advertisement, shows a group photo, referring to the bond they have without the band initially knowing and recognising this factor. The music video also portrays multiple shot types, even the singular shots are followed by one another, keeping the closeness of the band consistent through all factors.
Technical elements:
When choosing the right shots, we had to study other videos and how shots were incorporated to form the nature of the story line and the message that they want to convey in a clear and effective manner. When looking at the target audience, we found that they are at the age where they take inspiration for artist's and try to apply it to there trends and interests, trying to be like the artist. for this factor, we decided to portray a relationship, as the audience are at the age of experience a first real relationship and heartbreak to go along with this factor.
Within the beginning, we decided to fade the colour from black and white into colour. through a smooth and gradual transition. Reflecting this notion, we also used the typewriter segment, showing the name of the song, demonstrating a vintage idea. At the end of the video, we reflected and reversed the fading out from colour back into black and white, working well to come to a conclusion that reflects the idea of the beginning. The end also fades out into black, showing the end of line and story.
The transitions throughout the video are quick and keep a even pace, due to the song being upbeat, we wanted the shots to keep with the tempo of the music. However, some long shots were used to portray more important elements and the main body message of the story line. The quick cuts also demonstrate the fun and energy of the band enjoying themselves as friends and as a band. We felt that too long of a shot would cause the band to become bored of the story line. Within the story line we see a lot of the couple from a third party perspective, portraying less of the couples feelings, but instead how the public would view the relationship. We wanted the audience to hope for what the couple have, them being the goal they aspire to be with someone as a couple. This audience and public viewing continues through the performance sequences too, helping the audience feel that they are interacting within the video. The use of slow motion shots, forming still, good quality frames that pause on important parts that we want them to intentionally remember.
The typewriter segment also appear in the middle of the video, reminding the audience of traditional methods before the time of digital technology. When exploring Goodwin's Theory, we found that audience look at the link between the lyrics and video, using key aspects to show this including the typewriter. This also demonstrates some of the lyrics, for the audience to visually see, and know in order to join in a sing along with the song, making the lyrics more memorable to the audience.
Representation in music video and Ancillary text:
we wanted to conceive the band as a role model and inspiration to the target audience. with their image being fun and youthful, but someone that they feel they can relate too on a personal level. Using people who are the same age, is an instant link to the band also, without initially knowing. Along with simple fashion styles, we also kept the make-up very minimal, showing an element of natural beauty and this being important to a female audience who are very weary of their appearance towards others. Through the band all of the members, have their own characteristics and personality throughout, making them stand out within their own, unique way, but also obtaining a very positive attribute throughout. However, we also looked into the original members of the band, trying to apply them into the characters, being exactly like the band to target the same audience and fan base.
Changes we made:
Through the whole video we resulted in making some rather significant changes to the work. The first being our story line, with the fact we were hoping to introduce more of the performance side of the video, with a small proportion of the video demonstrating the band interacting as friends. However, upon discussion we found that this wouldn't have worked in order to link to our target audience, plus being a rather bland story line. Moreover, we also found that the story would not comply to the lyrics or that of Goodwin's Theory, changing the story line, with the video being the main focus, followed by the performance elements. We also changed the number of member in the band, based on the factor that we felt that three was the magic number, more rounded and no one would be left out compared the original five members within the band. This was clearly an effective choice, as too many character would bring too many personalities, clashing and showing friction on screen. Making a very unprofessional band. On the contrary, when producing the drafts of the Digipak, we discovered that is was not the image we were looking for, therefore recreating and adjust the design based more upon the video, taking part and aspects in order to make a more relatable design. We introduced more imagery of the band, creating a family atmosphere throughout. With more time, to work on the contents of the products we would use more intricate photo-shopping skills and fancier design, as i feel they tell a point, but don't create a particularly interesting view to the eye. As well as, different locations, really making a truly pop music generic pieces, with finalised elements completing the small touches.

The music video also involves some panning shots, the first main panning segment is showing the coupling basketball, this displaying the fun and connection they have with one another. However, also including their competitive side, this host also makes a more interesting composition, than short, quick shots, it also helps set the scene for the audience watching the video. The second panning, also shows them connecting more and a love interest between the pair as they begin to become closer. This also sets the scene, but disperses into the next fragment to the video in a gradual manner. This more of a romantic effect, like they are going to kiss, a rather sweet and innocent idea to the relationship. This sense of mystery and unknown really intrigues the audience more into the music video. We wanted to show more than just games, but the serious commitment of a loving relationship. The playful notion of the relationship, is shown in many moment but specifically the fist bump, showing friendship and relationship cross over. The slow motion allows the audience to tell that this is something we want their eye to focus on. Showing that they will always have each other no matter what, like them being locked and compatible as one.
The kissing and hugging segment were introduced much later, only showing friendship from the beginning, this way the gradual connection appear, like a real relationship instead of them instantly knowing each other, which would be unrealistic and not show the sweet innocence of the characters. The purpose of mid shots, demonstrates a playful nature they appear to have as a couple, also the surrounding and atmosphere within the arcade, with everyone being happy and having fun.
The chorus itself also introduces Goodwin's theory of displaying elements that the audience expect to see. With repetitive shots of the band, in paint throwing nature. Helping the audience to understand the complexity of the story line, but also linking the lyrics to the movements on scene, making the story line relevant to the words at hand. The chorus also sees more close-ups of the band, allowing them to link and making them the subject, in order to know that the lyrics and meaning behind the song shows them as the main subject for this matter. The paint throwing, also introduces the trademark colour we have applied to each member of the band, them throwing the paint of their colour shows this notion. With more time, more experimental shots would be used, and with better quality equipment we could of captured sky shots, making a far more interesting composition to the video.

Q1: In What Ways Does Your Media Product Use, Develop Or Challange Forms And Conventions Of Real Media Products?
The final product of our music video has been upload and applied to YouTube, as this allows easy access for the public to view the video. However, its a popular and well-known device that is used internationally, spreading the video reaching a wider target audience. Its also is a simple way for the public to comment, giving use both positive and negative feedback, based on areas and elements of the video, like costume choices or the critics of the story line. YouTube is major online distributor of videos of all types, but mainly music. Its a free way for anyone to upload any video of their choice. YouTube first came to public light in 2005, helping significantly was fame, with the likes of Justin Bieber, through record companies becoming aware of this success, him achieving viral fame. At present, technology is a key element in the average teens life, with our target audience knowing YouTube and using it for consumption on a regular basis. Its also stereotypical for our target audience, making it easier for use to reach them directly and on a personal level. By applying our video to YouTube, through file sharing on Imovie, meant that the pixels and quality would be at its best, making great viewing for the audience. Therefore, this is the site we know for a fact our target audience use and other well-known artists like Taylor swift and Nicki Minaj use, declaring its popularity. A platform to sell our band, and promote them gaining positive publicity for their music.
YouTube, is known for promoting big artists, who are very successful, gaining much of their success and fame through YouTube. It releases the video, to YouTube which can be seen around the world, international, targeting a mass audience as well as, our target audience, gaining more success than expected.
The music genre we have dedicated our music video too, is Pop, focusing our coursework around 'Fifth Harmony' and the song ' Write on me'. to understand the band further, we looked at different songs and music videos, that they have produced. gaining inspiration on different shots and camera angles used, so create something stereotypical to the format and design they do as a band, but also conventions of the generic pop music video. We it came to the choice of locations, we decided to use local places, due to time and convenience for the music video. We found we had easy access to a studio setting and outside areas. To find the right locations however, lots of research was needed, looking at different areas like for the studio if lighting was available, if so what was the quality and accessibility to the location. When viewing chosen band, that multiple can shots and angles were used, captures a studio idea, taking this as inspiration in order to produce our music video.Using a studio environment, made our video appear more professional and link to the traditional image of the made.
Another factor for using the studio location, was a contrasting location compared to the other choices for our other locations, varying in scenery. we wanted a fun area for the date, using a arcade to provide this. The arcade is stereotypical to the idea of pop, being big and bold with lighting to achieve vibrancy in our music video. showing contrast in location, with having a simplistic and minimalistic location, with a bright lighting location to balance out the design. In some of the studio shots we did use inspiration from artist 'Goyte' as further discussed in question 2. We used his idea of shots and camera angles, following the close-up template as he does, but his use of shape included upon the faces of the band in segments of the music video. Using the colours, pink, purple and green the same colours as the powder paint, each representing a character and colour for each personality in the band. showing a connection between the three, interlinking into one, like they are sisters. we applied this section to the chorus, repeating again at the same lyrics, linking to the lyrics when editing. This introduces Goodwin's theory making a relationship between lyrics and the story line of the music video.
for the paint throwing, we began to look at field locations with open spaces, having room to throw the paint freely, without disturbing others. This is to express the fun and youthful feel of the band, showing their range of emotions that they have this emotional female, a very stereotypical idea. sticking with the same colours and themes demonstrates a good line of continuity and makes them relatable to the audience through colours.
Referring back to the date, we decided to keep to stereotypes conveying a mixture of both, adhering and subverting the stereotypes. The arcade shows their youth, but the walking fragment time to themselves, being peaceful and calm, showing the serious love forming between the pair. Throughout the video, moments of lust forming into love, with touching and kissing and playful indications, like placing the tickets around him and hugging. However, they grew in closeness throughout the video, slowly with kissing more towards the end of the video. Allowing the audience to know that love shouldn't be rushed, a positive relationship and how they should work for those who have never been in a relationship before.
Throughout the video, we chose to switch back and forth locations, transitioning from one shot to the next. keeping it fun and interactive, making the audience think in each and every shot. This also builds the suspense over time, instead of releasing the story straight away, not really what happens in a music video. the mixture of camera shots and angles with close-up and mid-shot being a favourite throughout, was in place to focus on the purpose of the character in the video and specifically that section. The mid-shot and some long shots like in the arcade segment. indicates body language and their attraction to one another, but also setting the surrounding location, helping the audience to form a bigger picture of location. We found that as the pace of the song increased the shots would become closer and more fast paced, cuts matching the speed on the song, following the stereotypes of Pop, the notion of Goodwin's theory and our target audience, creating the foundation to our music video.
The costume throughout, wore clothes that would make the audience want to wear them, taking them as inspiration, and being a role model for the audience. We also matched the clothes to what is typical for our target audience. including a range of both branded and high street style clothing, ranging in price, items that the audience can afford, a mixture between the two. we research various stores, with designer trainer brands present, a causal look that our target audience would were on a daily basis.
To create the a good advertisement and promotion factor, we decided to create an ancillary text, this including a magazine advertisement and Digipak. When looking at ways that they promote themselves through social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, advertising tour dates and key information about the band. We found this was key, but having a magazine advertisement was better, yes traditional but we found that still a lot of teenagers buy magazines, making it personal and materialistic for them to view as an audience.
To create a finalised idea of our magazine advertisement, we first began looking to other template and designs of other real life and famous pop music artists. Looking specifically at, into different artists, creating critical analyse and observations of their magazine advertisements. The first visible element was the fact that all of the advertisements we looked into display the artist, helping a new and old fan base link a face to the name. To create a more personal level, perhaps we could have introduced the name of each member, making the personal theme present in more depth and detail. We also found that the band are very open and exposed to their fans, making this clearer with an image of the band. We have made the design and format simple, not over crowding with typography or information about the band, instead just a hint of the band. This makes it simpler for the audience to see and read the information, not having to spent time thinking and finding, not challenging but instead easy to see and read. The typography of the bands name is large, as the key information we want them to notice, by doing this on purpose we obtain their attention, where we want it to be on the page, a clever promotion trick. The black bubble font, is bold and eye-catching for the audience, with the white background, keeping the sole focus on the text of the band. However, a gradual change of fonts to the bottom of the advertisement appears, allowing each line of the advertisement to be unique and state its own identity to the piece. the capitals throughout also does this, a subtle way to increase intensity and dramatic piece of the text. The same font is present on the Digipak, allowing the audience to link the Digipak to the advertisement, showing continuity and linking clearly between the two elements.
When looking at our target audience research, we discovered that technology like phones were a key part of their life, along with the majority having or knowing about forms of social media. Therefore, they will understand technology on a good level, by adding the website of the band, allows them to access merchandise but also the social media accounts of the band, following them throughout their music career, seeing exclusive elements that the bands have tweeted about or posted on Instagram of special events like meet and greets or tickets available for their concert. This was present on the advertisements I researched, another good promoting factor of the band, and their social media sites. It also give the audience to keep up to date with the band, but also research the band if they do not know the band that well, gaining more information on them, about their success, gaining more fans through promotion, earning more profit as a band, having the audience invest into the band. In conclusion, the way of promotion adheres the codes and conventions, as we know this works, from our research, making a well design layout that sells the band more to an audience, and gaining more fans to their status. We have obtained this adhering factor as our fans know and understand these factors from other advertisements, showing them what they expect from a advertisement. interesting the audience, and promoting the Digipak in a successful manner.
We also applied another format and foundation of advertising through our ancillary text , by creating a Digipak. To understand the key aspects we completed research, looking at different areas of the Digipak, including colour, typography, key information present on the Digipak and the generic cover layout of the Digipak's. We discovered that for a Pop album, big, bold colour were a key favourite, but i did find that the script preferred a much more monochromatic vibe through, a more serious and subtle side to the album. However, our final outcome is black and white, a much less preferred option by bands, therefore subverting the stereotypes. Its visible that a small portion of colour has been applied, being a purple tint and undertone, adding a small aspect of femininity. This also reflects the beginning and end of the music video, hinting signs of what to actually expect in the music video. We also found that the pace of the song is not typical for a upbeat, fast pace song, instead a gentle sound throughout the contents of the song, reflecting this pace in the colours of the digipak, this song is in fact slower compared to 'work' another track available on the album, instead we wanted to appeal in more sensitive manner, as the audience can link to the band on a personal level. Towards the chorus however the tempo increased, but no enough for us to change to a more brighter colour, instead the purple indicates this nature in a casual way. If this album was also present on a chart rack, compared to the coloured pop stereotypes, our would stand out and be different drawing the eye of the audience more. Another key area, was the artists image and presence on the band, a very important part that will sell the band and link to the audience, being the first aspects they are going to see on the cover. We discovered that most albums use close-up imagery of the band, displaying mainly their faces, and torso, we did use this factor, through the single shots displayed on the CD, but more of a mid shot for the image on the cover of the Digipak, sticking heavily to the stereotype as its a factor this instantly works and reflects the sensitive nature we wanted to apply to the Digipak. The film strip displays the nature of the music video, a traditional technology and concept, like the typewriter, hinting small fragments and sections of the music video, that the band are not intentionally aware of. By using the weaved effect, interlinks the characters, like they are sisters, but a unique piece of editing that would not be found on any other Digipak, making this specifically linked to them. This represents that they are all individual but, when as a band are one, a clever piece of editing to emphasis this.
The ancillary texts we designed and created, I feel are of much success, due to the continuity and connection between the three items at hand. As the group, we made the decision to keep the black and white theme consistent throughout, as well as, keeping the same photograph of the group, making it easy for the audience to identify who are members part of the group. Through the research process into the ancillary text we found that, a lot of the artists keep a theme throughout, subtle indications that this is them. Keeping to the stereotypes of pop artists, through the ancillary text, however we could have changed this through costume and location of the shots, showing a different side to the band instead of what is already present in the music video of the band. We discovered that overall does link well, forming a great outcome across the ancillary text. Although, the magazine advertisement is slightly unique, adjusting the colours and format, making this far less important compared to the Digipak, as we wanted, selling the album more than the poster, which is just informing the audience of the album that they have released as a band. Further, this continuous theme allows the audience to recognise the band, instead of being out of the ordinary which would make the audience far less recognisable. They can easily be distinguished as 'Fifth Harmony', we heavily relied on the codes and conventions, but did subvert factors through the typewriter, adding a vintage form of communication that the audience would not necessarily expect in the music video.
